History of Irish Coffee
Irish Coffee was created in 1943, Limerick Ireland, by a chef named Joe Sheridan. Apparently, during a cold winter night at the Foynes Port, Chef Sheridan felt bad for the passengers who were tired, cold, and just had their flight delayed. It is said that to keep the passengers from rioting, he created this famous Irish Coffee drink. With just a bit of Irish whiskey added to coffee, Chef Joe left many people happy and wanting more.
By 1952, Irish Coffee was beginning to gain popularity, as many bartenders tried to recreate it.
